Jesus, Head of the House.

Jesus taught me the structure of the house.  He told me why it is brought up so many times in new testament for wives to submit to their husbands and for husbands to love their wives.  Religion has taken this and used it to put women in subjection, but this was never the purpose.  For the most part the verse where it tells the husband to love the wife as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25) has been disregarded all together. 

These verses were never about us, but like most scripture was about God and how God has given the man and the woman in marriage the keys to put Christ the head of the house.  It requires faith from both sides but when the husband or the wife is in disobedience God can step in if the husband or wife follows the structure that he created.  The structure is this Husbands love your wives as Christ loves the Church and be not bitter towards them and wives submit to your husbands.  Sounds simple enough but it’s not hard to see why this has been greatly misunderstood in the Church.  I’m going to explain the deeper spiritual reasons behind these commands.  Let’s start with the man.

We are commanded to love our wives as Christ loves the church and be not bitter towards them. (Ephesians 5:25 and Colossians 3:19) It doesn’t say only do this if she is a great wife or when things are going well the bible clearly gives this as a command without suggestion, similar to honouring our parents.  The reason we are commanded to do this is because it allows God to work on our wife if she is in disobedience in anyway or out of the will of God.  When you are loving your wife the way Christ loves the Church you are operating in faith knowing that God is going to step in and correct your wife because you’re following the structure God created.  Many men don’t want to accept this and instead say the wife has to submit to me, which is true to a certain degree but can easily be taken out of context.  If you want her to submit to you and you are not walking in love you are the one who is in error and I can guarantee you won’t be in a happy marriage.

Now let’s take a look at the wife.  She is told to submit to her husband (Ephesians 5:22, Colossians 3:18, Titus 2:5, 1 Peter 3:1) Believe it or not this is a major blessing for the woman!  If you read 1 Peter 3:1 it says that the wife submitting to the husband will result in the husband being saved even if he is against the word. (Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives.)(1 Peter 3:1) How amazing is this!?  Before I continue, I would like to point out that some will never be saved and in that case the bible says that the unbelieving partner will leave and not to pursue them and this is God having mercy on the believer.  (But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away. And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace. (1 Corinthians 7:13-16). 

Let’s get back to the wife.  What the Lord showed me was this, when the wife submits to her husband in faith it puts God the head of the house regardless if he likes it or not.  It puts the husband into the hands of God for correction or judgment if need be.  See the wife submitting to the husband was never about the husband or wife but instead was about God and God giving the keys to the wife to put God in control.   It also takes a great amount of humility but one of the spiritual laws is those who humble themselves will be exalted and those who exalt themselves will be humbled. (Matthew 23:12) The faith and humility of the wife can result in the entire family being exalted. 

I will do more teachings in this, but I want to leave you with this.  This isn’t some teaching it is a spiritual fact; that my wife and I have experienced.  There have been many times she has submitted to me about certain things and it opened the door for God to come in and correct when I have been in error.  On the flip side there have been times where she has been in error and I chose to walk in Love and God has come in and corrected my wife.  The Lord wants this truth released to the Church in these end times so that Jesus Christ can be the head of every Christian home in these end times.
